Who We Are

The Sussex County Farm and Horse Show Association oversees the management of the Sussex County Fairgrounds. The Association consists of an Executive Committee and Board of Directors. These individuals donate their time to make policy and serve on committees such as Buildings & Grounds, Finance, and Concessions. In addition, many directors work on divisions at the Fair such as 4-H, Agriculture, Horse Show and Creative Arts for Home & Hobby. The Executive Committee meets monthly and the Board has five meetings annually. The decisions of the Board are carried out by the Fair Manager, who manages daily operations, books events and oversees a small staff.

The Sussex County Farm & Horse Show Association, Inc. is a not for profit corporation recognized by the IRS as a 501 (c)(3) organization.

Contributions are tax deductible in accordance with IRS regulations for Charitable Donations. Our sponsors help to underwrite the cost of development of the grounds and events during the Fair. The Fairgrounds receives no monetary support from government sources. Funding comes from building rentals, sponsorship and Fair admission.

Local non-profit organizations are given a 50% discount on the rental of the grounds. Over 40 local non-profits benefit from holding their fundraisers on the grounds. In addition, the Fairgrounds works with local groups as part of their community support. One example is providing space for filming virtual graduations in 2020 at no cost. The grounds have also been used during emergencies at no cost for staging equipment and other emergency management needs that benefit the community.
